Richie has been Managing Director at IR since he set the company up in 2014. His main roll is the day to day running of the business and dealing with the challenges it brings.
“I enjoy keeping fit and have entered in multiple obstacle course events including Total Warrior. I also attend a mixture of PT’s and classes with local fitness business “SS Fitness”. Those that know me also know I enjoy playing golf and play whenever and wherever I can.😄”

Richie has a well known saying “Fail to prepare, Prepare to fail” which he uses in the office which he stands by everyday of the week and most of the staff are sick of hearing.
Jake is the newest member to the IR team as he joined us at the start of March. Jake has a role of jobs that he does at IR. Jake is in control of the social media/website so controls when posts go out and creates the posts. Jake also helps Simon with the carpet cleaning as well as helping Shaun and David with the Fire and Flood restoration.
“Even though I only started at IR in March I felt like part of the family straight away and was welcomed with open arms. I enjoy the range of work I do at IR because it means I’m not doing the same thing day in day out which is the best thing about the job!”
“In my spare time I like to go out drinking with my mates in Corbridge or Hexham (when the suns shining☀️). I also play Sunday morning football for Hexhamshire FC in the “Hexham and District Sunday” league which I really enjoy, even if a lot of the times I’m feeling a bit worse for wear after the Saturday night 🥴.
“My favourite food is any sort of red meat from a restaurant but a steak has to be top of the list I think. There’s nothing better than a nice steak and chips with a pint of Peroni on the side although I am a big fan of a Gin & Tonic as well😁.”
David has been a part of the IR team for over 3 years. David fitted straight in when he came to IR and knew straight away it was the job for him.
“I love working at Independent restoration because everybody within the company is great. The workplace is relaxed but also hard working. I am lucky with my job as I get to visit a range of locations and also have a variety of jobs that I do day to day. I enjoy the responsibility I have as I have the freedom to organise my own jobs so I am sorting my diary out most of the time. I enjoy the satisfaction of helping clients recover from the major disasters they have had in their homes due to fires and floods.”
“I have a few hobbies including work itself! However, when I’m not at work I do enjoy playing golf at a weekend but some would say I’m a bigger fan of the 19th hole other than the 18 holes before it.😅I do enjoy drinking after a game of golf and love sitting on the veranda at Stocksfield Golf club whilst sipping a pint in the sun.☀️”
“My favourite foods are steak, lobster, cheese, bacon and any sort of crisps I can find .😂 I love a black coffee and live off them Monday to Friday but my favourite weekend drinks are a glass of Pinot or a bourbon.”
